Why MyTeacherAide Outperforms ChatGPT: The Truth About AI in Education

I often get asked, “What makes MyTeacherAide better than ChatGPT?”

I have three go-to answers, and today I’m going to share the first one.

Brace yourself; it’s a bit of a strange reason.

Here goes:

MyTeacherAide doesn’t lie to you.

ChatGPT lies

I think I am making a safe assumption if I guess that you don’t like being lied to.

It’s okay, neither do it.

Yet, when you ask ChatGPT to create a lesson plan with specific links to a curriculum, it often tells you big pork pies!

Have a look at this lesson plan I created with ChatGPT. I specifically asked for it to link to Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum.

For a curriculum link to be correct, it needs to 1) be from the right curriculum (V9 in this case), 2) have the correct reference number, and 3) have the correct description.

Put simply, there are 3 things to get right for every curriculum link.

Let’s see how ChatGPT went:

As you can see, it did not do well. Many, many lies.

Well-known AI Education tool lies, too.

Perhaps we would have better luck if we used an educationally specific tool.

I won’t name the tool, but it’s one of the most popular tools out there:

Ouch. Lots of lies.

MyTeacherAide tells the truth.

MyTeacherAide is not a generic, off-the-rack AI tool.

We pride ourselves on accuracy and close partnerships with schools.

That’s why we integrate a school’s curricula for them.

We literally build it into their version of MyTeacherAide.

What does this mean?

No lies.

If you still have to second-guess all your output because you’re using second-tier tools, I encourage you to try MyTeacherAide.

You can start your free trial here. If you like it, you can get on the best AI tool in the market for less than a dollar a day.
